Formal Complaint Regarding Cancellation Process / Scentbird Part Two

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to formally document concerns regarding your subscription cancellation process.

On 2/17/26, I submitted a written request to cancel my subscription. I received an automated response providing instructions, but the subscription was not canceled at that time. The communication indicated that unless I took additional steps to confirm cancellation, the subscription would remain active.

Requiring multiple confirmations and defaulting to continued billing unless a customer follows up creates unnecessary friction and may be confusing for consumers who reasonably believe that a written cancellation request constitutes a clear intent to terminate service.

Although my subscription has now been canceled, I am requesting clarification on the following:

  1. Why an initial written cancellation request does not trigger immediate termination.

  2. Why the process defaults to continuation unless further confirmation is provided.

  3. Whether this policy complies with applicable consumer protection standards.

I would appreciate a written response addressing these concerns.

Sincerely,
Garrett
